Kent is a town I want more work in. It is inside the ten to fifteen mile circle we keep our jobs in, and the mix of older homes near downtown and newer builds on the edges suits the design work we do.
Common projects for us here: patios, retaining walls, front entry rebuilds, plantings. And on every one of them the lawn repair is warrantied for six months, because our machines made the mess and it is ours to fix.
Kent holds down the south end of the route, a few minutes past Streetsboro. SR-59 and SR-43 carry most of the traffic, with the Cuyahoga River cutting through the middle of town. Franklin Township and the Brady Lake area sit on the same runs we make into Kent. Our yard sits on Bartlett Road in Mantua, and we keep every job inside a tight circle of it, which is how Marcus stays on each site personally instead of managing crews by phone.

The Cuyahoga cuts through the middle of Kent, and plenty of lots around it carry grade. We build engineered block walls and natural stone outcroppings that turn a slope into usable yard, with the drainage behind the wall that decides whether it lasts. Where the grade is the problem rather than the feature, we regrade and drain it first.
Kent houses sit closer together, so a design here is partly a logistics drawing: where the machines can reach, where the material gets staged, how the finished patio relates to the neighbour's line. Getting that settled on paper is what keeps a tight lot from becoming a problem on build day.
We repair it, and that is in the bid, not a surprise. Machines tear up lawns, so lawn repair on every Kent job is part of the job and warrantied for six months as long as it is watered right.

Yes. Older Kent houses take a lighter touch, walks, entries and patios scaled to the architecture, and we design them on a 3D model of your actual house so the fit is visible before we build.
Yes, design and build work at the houses around the university, the same as anywhere else in Kent. What we do not do is maintenance contracts, so mowing-and-mulch upkeep for rentals is not something we take on. Rebuilding a tired yard properly is.
