Pergolas & Pavilions in Twinsburg, OH
A timber pavilion puts a roof on your outdoor living space, with ceiling fans, lighting and the fire feature working under it. We build the entire project around the structure so the patio, footers and frame land as one build.
“Marcus and his team did a great job replacing a walkway in our backyard along with installing a patio for a fire pit.… Additionally, he installed plants through our front and back beds as well as installed river rock to help with water management. I have worked with Marcus before and always found him a good communicator. He and his team are here when they say they are going to be and don’t leave a mess when they are done. Marcus is a high integrity business owner. I would recommend him to anyone looking for landscape design and installation.”
How a pavilion project actually runs
We excavate, pour the footers, and build the patio. The timber frame itself goes up with a carpentry crew we bring in and stand behind, and then we finish the patio around the posts so the floor meets the structure clean. You get one project and one schedule, with each part built by the people who do it every day.
Pavilion or pergola?
A pavilion has a solid roof, so it gets fans, lights and dry furniture. A pergola is an open frame, cheaper, and gives shade and structure without full cover. Which one is right depends on how you want to use the space in an Ohio August and an Ohio October, and that is a design conversation.
Decide the wiring before the posts go up
Fans, lights and an outlet or two all want wire, and the clean way to run it is through the posts and framing while the structure goes up. Your electrician does the hookup, we coordinate where everything lands in the design, the same way we handle gas for a fire feature. Adding a fan to a finished pavilion means surface conduit, so it gets decided at the drawing.
This service is right when
- You want shade and cover without building an addition
- You want fans, lights or a fireplace working under a roof
- You are doing the patio anyway and want the structure planned into it
When it is the wrong call
- You want a screened room attached to the house. That is a general contractor project
- The space is tiny. A small yard is usually better served by shade trees or a cantilever umbrella, and we will say so
What holds a pavilion up
The frame goes up with the carpentry crew. The footers, the base and the patio are our work:
- Footers dug and poured below frost depth, sized to the structure
- The patio base engineered before the frame goes up
- A timber frame raised by the carpentry crew we bring in and stand behind
- The paver floor finished tight to the posts, so nothing reads as an afterthought
- Fans, lights and the fire feature planned under the roof from the first drawing
Where we build it
Most of this work lands in Hudson pavilions, Twinsburg, Aurora, Streetsboro and the rest of the towns on the service area page, all inside the circle we keep around our Mantua yard.
What you get on every project
- Every project is warrantiedThe structure carries a structural warranty, because we stand behind all of our work.
- Lawn repair warrantied six monthsOur machines can tear up grass during construction. We repair the lawn to its original condition, and the lawn repair is warrantied for six months.
- Permits and HOA approvals handledWe work with the city, the township and the engineers, sit in the meetings, and present the 3D drawing with locations and setbacks to the HOA board. You do not chase any of it.
- The price you approve is the priceYou see preliminary pricing with the design and final pricing before anything is ordered. Nothing starts until we have a plan and budget that you are comfortable with.
Pergolas questions, answered
Do you build the pavilion yourselves?
We build the project. Footers, base and patio are ours, and the timber frame goes up with a carpentry crew we bring in for the structure itself. One schedule, one point of contact, and I am on the site either way.
Can a pavilion have a fireplace under it?
Yes. We have built stone outdoor fireplaces standing under pavilions, with the patio, structure and fire designed as one space.
Does a pavilion need a permit in Summit or Portage County?
Usually yes for a roofed structure, and HOA approval where you have one. We handle the permits and present the 3D drawing to the HOA for you.
Which is better, a pergola or a pavilion?
A pavilion has a solid roof, so fans, lights and furniture live outside all season. A pergola is open framing, cheaper, and shades without covering. Decide how you will use it: if the space should work in the rain and into October, that is a pavilion. If you mostly want summer shade, a pergola does it for less.
How much does a pavilion cost to build?
The structure, the footers and the patio under it price as one project: one schedule, one design, no gap where the concrete guy blames the carpenter. Size and roof choice move it most, and the design settles the number before anything is ordered.
What towns do you cover for pergola and pavilion work?
The same circle as everything we build: Hudson, Streetsboro, Aurora, Mantua, Stow and the rest of the list on our service area page. We stay close to the Mantua yard so Marcus can be on every site.
Does pergola and pavilion work pair with anything else you build?
Usually. Most projects that include pergola and pavilion work also touch walkways & driveways, and designing the two together is cheaper and cleaner than bolting one on later.
