Outdoor Kitchens & Grill Islands in Hudson, OH

We build the grill island: the block structure, the stone veneer, the openings cut for your grill, burner and access doors, sitting on a patio built to hold it.

“Marcus and his team are truly top notch. They completed two projects at our house, and both are wonderful. Transformed the front and back of our house. Couldn’t be happier and strongly recommend them.”

How we build an outdoor kitchen, and what we send you elsewhere for

We build the structure and get it countertop ready. The countertop itself comes from a countertop company, and the gas or electric hookup comes from your electrician or plumber. I connect you with the people I use and you work with them directly, because if I subcontracted it all through my bid you would pay my markup on their work. It is a better deal for you this way, and I would rather tell you that up front.

Grill islands that match the yard

The island gets veneered in the same stone as your seat walls or fireplace, so the kitchen looks like part of the build instead of a bolted-on box. We size the openings to the exact appliances you pick before the block goes up.

Where the kitchen goes on the patio

Close enough to the house that carrying food is not a hike, placed so smoke blows away from the seating, and under the pavilion if the plan has one, so the grill works in the rain. Counter depth, door swings and the path back to the kitchen door all get drawn before the block is ordered. That is the difference between an island you cook at all summer and one that collects pollen.

This service is right when

  • You cook outside enough that hauling everything from the kitchen is old
  • You are building or already have a patio the island can anchor
  • You want the island to match the stone in the rest of the yard

When it is the wrong call

  • You want one company to bill everything, countertop and gas included. We will not, and we tell you why: you would pay markup on trades you can hire directly
  • There is no patio or pad yet. The island needs a base, so that gets built first

How we build a grill island

We build the structure, and the appliances you picked get set into it:

  • A block carcass on a base built for the weight
  • Openings cut to the exact spec sheets of the grill, burner and doors you chose
  • Utility rough-ins located in the design for your electrician and plumber
  • Stone veneer matched to the rest of the build
  • A top that is countertop ready, for the fabricator you pay directly

Where we build it

Most of this work lands in Hudson outdoor kitchens, Aurora, Stow, Twinsburg and the rest of the towns on the service area page, all inside the circle we keep around our Mantua yard.

What you get on every project

  • Every project is warrantiedThe structure carries a structural warranty, because we stand behind all of our work.
  • Lawn repair warrantied six monthsOur machines can tear up grass during construction. We repair the lawn to its original condition, and the lawn repair is warrantied for six months.
  • Permits and HOA approvals handledWe work with the city, the township and the engineers, sit in the meetings, and present the 3D drawing with locations and setbacks to the HOA board. You do not chase any of it.
  • The price you approve is the priceYou see preliminary pricing with the design and final pricing before anything is ordered. Nothing starts until we have a plan and budget that you are comfortable with.

Outdoor Kitchens questions, answered

Do you install the countertop on an outdoor kitchen?

No, and that is on purpose. We build the structure countertop ready and refer you straight to the countertop company we work with, so you pay them directly instead of paying our markup on their slab.

What grill goes into a grill island?

A built-in model you pick before we build, because the openings get sized to it exactly. Bring the spec sheet to the design meeting and we draw the island around it.

Can you match my grill island to my existing stone work?

Yes. Veneering the island in the same stone as the seat walls or fireplace is exactly how we build them.

How much does an outdoor kitchen cost?

The structure and stone are ours to price, and the appliances, countertop and utilities are line items you buy directly, which keeps our markup off them. Bring the grill spec you want to the design meeting and the budget conversation gets specific fast.

Does an outdoor kitchen need plumbing and electric?

Usually gas or electric for the grill and burner, sometimes water if a sink is in the plan. Your electrician and plumber run the utilities, we coordinate the rough-in locations in the design, and the island gets built around them.

What towns do you cover for outdoor kitchen work?

The same circle as everything we build: Hudson, Streetsboro, Aurora, Mantua, Stow and the rest of the list on our service area page. We stay close to the Mantua yard so Marcus can be on every site.

Does outdoor kitchen work pair with anything else you build?

Usually. Most projects that include outdoor kitchen work also touch pergolas & pavilions, and designing the two together is cheaper and cleaner than bolting one on later.

Reviews from Hudson Area Customers

“If I could give 10 stars out of 5 I would. Marcus and his guy did amazing. I live out of town and hired them for my parents flower beds. I had very specific requests and within 24 hours he had already been by the house to give me a quote. I am very demanding. I gave him less than a week to get the job done and he delivered with a smile! And on a holiday weekend I might add. Communicates very well and quickly by text or phone! The whole thing from start to finish was a breeze. Would def recommend them to anyone and will FOR SURE be using them again. Enjoy the before and afters.”

“Marcus and his team at Lasting Impressions did a phenomenal job transforming our backyard. He listened intently to our ideas and created an amazing design that was shown to us before the project. His creativity and execution surpassed expectations! Marcus was reliable, highly communicative and on site daily to work with his crew on a water feature, stone pathway, multiple garden beds, plants, trees, and lighting. Everyone on his team were polite and hard working! Marcus went above and beyond with a sincere passion for perfection. We will definitely use Lasting Impressions in the future!!”

“Marcus and his team did a great job replacing a walkway in our backyard along with installing a patio for a fire pit. Additionally, he installed plants through our front and back beds as well as installed river rock to help with water management. I have worked with Marcus before and always found him a good communicator. He and his team are here when they say they are going to be and don’t leave a mess when they are done. Marcus is a high integrity business owner. I would recommend him to anyone looking for landscape design and installation.”
