“Marcus and his team at Lasting Impressions did a phenomenal job transforming our backyard. He listened intently to our ideas and created an amazing design that was shown to us before the project. His creativity and execution surpassed expectations! Marcus was reliable, highly communicative and on site daily to work with his crew on a water feature, stone pathway, multiple garden beds, plants, trees, and lighting. Everyone on his team were polite and hard working! Marcus went above and beyond with a sincere passion for perfection. We will definitely use Lasting Impressions in the future!!”
Plantings, Trees & Shrubs in Streetsboro, OH
Plantings are where a hardscape build turns back into a landscape. We design beds, pick plant material that fits the light and the soil, and install trees, shrubs and perennials that soften the stone.
“If I could give 10 stars out of 5 I would. Marcus and his guy did amazing. …I live out of town and hired them for my parents flower beds. I had very specific requests and within 24 hours he had already been by the house to give me a quote. I am very demanding.… I gave him less than a week to get the job done and he delivered with a smile! And on a holiday weekend I might add. Communicates very well and quickly by text or phone! The whole thing from start to finish was a breeze. Would def recommend them to anyone and will FOR SURE be using them again. Enjoy the before and afters.”
Full bed renovations
A lot of our planting work is renovation. The plants that went in with the house are overgrown into the siding thirty years later, so we rip out the old material, reshape the beds, and replant with the right sizes in the right spots. We have done hundreds of these across Streetsboro and the surrounding towns over the past ten years.
Planted by an installer, designed by a designer
A bed that looks full the day it goes in is usually overgrown by year three. I design plantings to their mature size, because I am the one who gets called when someone else's plan overgrows the space. Fewer plants, correctly placed, beats a hundred plants fighting.
Commercial planting
We take on commercial plant installation around Portage and Summit County, from foundation beds to parking lot islands. Installation only. We are not a maintenance company, and we will say that on the first call rather than surprise you.
Beds drawn into the same design
The bed lines go into the 3D rendering with the patio and the walls, so the plantings have a shape to work with instead of filling leftover space. Stone and plant material get chosen together: river rock where beds meet the hardscape, mulch where things will fill in, a boulder where a corner needs weight. Our plantings read as part of the build because they were drawn into it from the start.
This service is right when
- Your foundation beds are overgrown and hiding the house
- You just built and the yard is bare dirt from the siding out
- You want the plantings designed with the stone work, not sprinkled in after
When it is the wrong call
- You are looking for weekly maintenance, mowing, pruning or mulch touch-ups. We do not do maintenance work
- You want annual flower rotations. Wrong company, and we will say so kindly
How a bed renovation runs
A bed renovation runs the same order every time:
- Out with the overgrown material, roots included, hauled away
- Bed lines recut so the beds fit the house and mow clean
- Plants placed at mature spacing, chosen for this zone and that exposure
- Mulch to finish, and the lawn edges repaired where we worked
- Care instructions at handover, plant by plant, so it thrives after we leave
Where we build it
Most of this work lands in Streetsboro front yards, Hiram plantings, Twinsburg, Hudson and the rest of the towns on the service area page, all inside the circle we keep around our Mantua yard.
What you get on every project
- Every project is warrantiedThe structure carries a structural warranty, because we stand behind all of our work.
- Lawn repair warrantied six monthsOur machines can tear up grass during construction. We repair the lawn to its original condition, and the lawn repair is warrantied for six months.
- Permits and HOA approvals handledWe work with the city, the township and the engineers, sit in the meetings, and present the 3D drawing with locations and setbacks to the HOA board. You do not chase any of it.
- The price you approve is the priceYou see preliminary pricing with the design and final pricing before anything is ordered. Nothing starts until we have a plan and budget that you are comfortable with.
Plantings questions, answered
Do you do landscape maintenance or mowing?
No. We design and install. No mowing, no pruning, no weeding contracts. When the install is done, we hand you a yard set up to be maintained easily, and we tell you how to care for what went in.
What plants survive Northeast Ohio winters?
The ones picked for the site. Our beds run on proven material for this zone, boxwood, arborvitae, hydrangea, perennials that come back, placed for the light and drainage each bed actually has. The plant list comes out of the design, not off a truck.
Can you replant the beds around my house without redoing everything?
Yes. Bed renovation is its own job: out with the overgrown material, reshape the edges, replant to mature size. It changes the front of a house more than anything else at that price.
When is the best time to plant shrubs and trees in Ohio?
Spring and fall both work, and fall is underrated: the ground stays warm, the rain does the watering, and the roots establish before summer heat. We plant through the season and tell you honestly when a plant would rather wait.
Can you design low maintenance landscaping?
Yes, and it is most of what we design. Fewer plants at mature size, beds shaped for a clean mow line, and material chosen for this climate. One recent review said exactly that: the new front yard looks better and takes less time to keep.
What towns do you cover for planting work?
The same circle as everything we build: Hudson, Streetsboro, Aurora, Mantua, Stow and the rest of the list on our service area page. We stay close to the Mantua yard so Marcus can be on every site.
Does planting work pair with anything else you build?
Usually. Most projects that include planting work also touch landscape lighting, and designing the two together is cheaper and cleaner than bolting one on later.
Reviews from Streetsboro Area Customers
“Marcus and his team did a great job replacing a walkway in our backyard along with installing a patio for a fire pit. Additionally, he installed plants through our front and back beds as well as installed river rock to help with water management. I have worked with Marcus before and always found him a good communicator. He and his team are here when they say they are going to be and don’t leave a mess when they are done. Marcus is a high integrity business owner. I would recommend him to anyone looking for landscape design and installation.”
“I could not be happier with the work of Marcus and his team! From the initial quote, to the first day of work - Marcus was very communicative and you could feel his excitement for the job. I felt like the entire process was tailored to make our home look its best. Marcus did an amazing job of explaining each plant and how to care for our new landscaping. I am so excited to see this new scape bloom and mature!”
